3. I've had trouble entering the data for the extended warranty for the 11-Speed. I don't understand what codes I have to enter and where to enter them. Where can I get help? To know how to enter the codes and activate the extended warranty, click here.
4. What type of protection does the warranty provide? A product recognized as defective by Campagnolo will be repaired or replaced at our discretion, free of charge, by an authorized Campagnolo Service Center.
5. How do I get service under warranty? In the event of a defect covered by the warranty, you need to contact an authorized Campagnolo Service Center. In order for claims to be honoured, they must be presented within the period of validity of the warranty and within eight days from the discovery of the defect.
Before sending any product to a Campagnolo Service Center to be inspected, you must obtain the authorization code for the return from the Service Center. They will give you a code that must be clearly visible on the outside of the packaging of the product. The issue of an authorization number does not constitute acceptance of the claim, which will be assessed by the Service Center after the product has been inspected.
8. What do I need to do before sending the product to the Service Center? The product, including all its parts, must first be cleaned (soiled products will not be handled/inspected) and then packed securely to prevent damage during shipping, and it must be accompanied by: A) sales receipt or invoice showing the date and place of retail purchase of the product; B) detailed description of the problem found with the product; C) chronological list of any operations carried out to attempt to resolve the problem; D) list of the components used together with the product; E) an estimate of the mileage; F) your name, address, telephone numbers and e-mail address; G) a specific request for cancellation if you want your personal data not be conserved for future reference following the claim management.
9. What does the three-year warranty mean and what are the advantage? The advantage of the Campagnolo warranty is that we offer consumers a much longer time to see whether defects of materials or workmanship appear. It often happens, in fact, that if a product is not used frequently, one year may not be sufficient for finding a defect.
10. What is not covered by the warranty? The Campagnolo warranty does not cover: A) products without a sales receipt or invoice, which makes it impossible to establish the date and place of sale and also because of the risk of illegal or illicit provenance (stolen, contraband, sold in violation of the fiscal regulations, etc.); B) products on which the identification markings have been removed (serial number, production lot, product code etc.); C) products that have reached the end of their normal life cycle; D) damage caused by accidents, tampering, negligence, abuse or improper use, lack of appropriate or reasonable maintenance, corrosion, incorrect installation, repairs performed inadequately or spare parts installed improperly, use of non-compatible spare parts or accessories, use in conjunction with non-compatible components, modifications not recommend or approved in writing by Campagnolo, normal wear and tear or deterioration due to the use of the product, commercial use of the product; E) aesthetic imperfections related to the surface, finish, or appearance of the product that were evident or identifiable at the moment of purchase; F) damage occurring during product shipping or transport; G) lubricants, brake pads, and all other consumable materials; H) any expenditures related to the transport of the product to and from an authorised Campagnolo Service Center; I) the labour costs required for removing the product from the bicycle; J) compensation for inconvenience or for not being able to use the product while it is being repaired or replaced.
11. Do you have a warranty for replacement of the wheels in case of an accident? As the result of an accident, the wheels/components were damaged. What are my options? The Campagnolo warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents.
12. If I fall and damage the new rear derailleur, can I ask for it to be replaced under warranty? No, the warranty covers defects of materials and workmanship. It does not protect against damage to the product resulting from accidents.
13. If the brake pads last less than three years, can I request replacement under warranty? The brake pads are parts subject to wear and tear (i.e. they are made to be consumed) and are not covered by the warranty.
14. Who can I contact for repairs on Campagnolo products? Campagnolo recommends that you contact one of our Pro-Shops, in the countries where they exist. The majority of qualified mechanics are able to carry out the main servicing operations on our products, but if this is not possible, you can always contact the Service Center in your country.
15. Can I carry out small repairs myself? Many maintenance or repair operations on bicycles require specialised knowledge, specific tools, and experience. Good general mechanical know-how may not be sufficient to ensure repairs that are technically adequate. In addition, it is often difficult to diagnose the problem with sufficient precision. Repairs carried out improperly may lead to accidents and serious personal injury. We recommend that you contact a qualified mechanic for all technical operations on your bicycle.
16. I had a minor accident and fell. Is it possible that my bicycle was damaged and that its reliability is compromised? Yes. Impacts can compromise the structural integrity of the components and of the frame even if there are no visible alterations (e.g. cracks, abrasion, deformation, cuts, etc.). Since it is impossible to assess the damage precisely, all the components affected by the accident should be examined by a specialised mechanic and replaced where necessary.
17. Is it really important to carry out the maintenance operations? Yes! The duration of the components and the safety of the user depend on correct maintenance. While it is true that the evolution of the technologies for materials and lubricants means that servicing is less frequent, its importance must not be underestimated.
18. What are the components for which maintenance is particularly important? Chain, hubs, and headset. However, periodic inspection and lubrication of Ergopower controls, front and rear derailleurs, brakes, cables and casings, and pedals is equally important to guarantee their durability and functionality.
19. Who can I contact for maintenance on Campagnolo products? The majority of qualified mechanics are able to carry out the main servicing operations on our products, but if this is not possible, you can always contact an authorised Campagnolo Pro-Shop.
20. What are the Campagnolo Pro-Shops? The Pro-Shops are selected retailers, immediately recognizable by the special window sticker with yearly validity stamp, that represent the local dimension of Campagnolo professionalism. The Pro Shops are given "fast-lane" treatment for resolving returns under warranty and for procuring spare parts.
21. With what frequency should the maintenance be carried out? Each Campagnolo component requires a different maintenance interval. Refer to the instruction sheets or manuals of the single components to check the recommended maintenance interval. In any case, we recommend that the minimum maintenance of the bicycle be carried out by a qualified mechanic with the following intervals: - First servicing after 100 km - Second servicing after 1000 km - In normal conditions, maintenance should then be carried out every 2000-3000 km. Particular conditions such as a heavy cyclist, rain, dust, use in competition, salt on roads due to snow, etc. may require shorter maintenance intervals. For example, it could be necessary to clean and lubricate the chain after every outing.
22. Can I carry out the maintenance operations myself? Many maintenance or repair operations on bicycles require specialised knowledge, specific tools, and experience. Good general mechanical know-how may not be sufficient to ensure repairs that are technically adequate. In addition, it is often difficult to diagnose the problem with sufficient precision. Repairs carried out improperly may lead to accidents and serious personal injury. We recommend that you contact a qualified mechanic for all technical operations on your bicycle.
23. Where can I find precise instructions on the maintenance of the products? The instruction sheets that accompany the products also contain instructions on maintenance. If necessary you can download them free of charge.
You can also consult the technical videos regarding the main servicing operations.
24. What tools need to be used for Campagnolo products? Campagnolo produces a series of extremely high quality tools designed specifically for our products. Check with your retailer to find the right tool for the job. Though other manufacturers offer tools of various types, there are too many of these on the market for us to be able to test their quality or suitability for use on Campagnolo products.
In addition, even if we could test a tool we could never certify that it would always work well because the tools and/or the products could be modified and we cannot know the impact such modification would have on the suitability of the tool.
25. Where can I find the specific tools for Campagnolo components? Campagnolo tools are available as spare parts. To order tools, contact your nearest Pro-Shop. To view the tools you can download the spare parts catalogue (the tools are located at the end of the catalogue).
