Antonio Rossi and Jury Chechi throw down the gauntlet for the Marathon of the Dolomites

Ugo De Rosa with Antonio Rossi and Jury Chechi

Last Friday, the De Rosa company hosted the two Olympic champions, Jury Chechi and Antonio Rossi, for the delivery of their personalised bikes. Antonio and Jury will use these bikes equipped with Campagnolo 11 speed groupsets to participate in the Maratona Dles Dolomites as members of Campagnolo C11 Team.

Both athletes have always been big cycling enthusiasts, which easily explains their irrepressible desire to get their hands on the new bikes equipped with Campagnolo Record groupset and Shamal 2Way-Fit wheels.
For the occasion Antonio and Jury wore Campagnolo Sportswear sets created exclusively for the C11 event and, after receiving some technical explanations, they were off for the road test!
A healthy competition was immediately established between the two, and Jury showed his mettle, repeating his objective for the Marathon of the Dolomites: "... It's okay if I finish next to last, but I must absolutely beat my captain, Antonio ...".

In the midst of witty remarks and good laughs, the day concluded in the company of the two champions, who departed for Venice to participate, with their new De Rosa bikes, in the "Race of Champions" which on Saturday 9th May preceded the start of the Giro d'Italia 2009. For this competition Antonio Rossi said he was ready to be the "support rider" to the "Lord of the Rings", but for the Marathon of the Dolomites the challenge is still entirely open!
