2015 draws to a close, ending a year full of awards and results for Campagnolo.
Christmas is drawing near, as is the end of 2015. For Campagnolo this has been a busy year, packed with new products and ideas that have even brought us a number of awards.
We have achieved a lot during 2015 and the results have been many. Some of these are particularly important for Campagnolo because they reward the effort that our company has made in various sectors.
First of all, results from races.
After a 2014 that was amazing to say the least, with victories in the Giro by Nairo Quintana on team Movistar and in the Tour de France by Vincenzo Nibali, 2015 has drawn to a close with equally important results.
Primarily, the World Hour Record set by Alex Dowsett who, thanks also to the innovative technology applied to the new Campagnolo Wheels, joined the cycling hall of fame, totaling 52.937 km and thus beating Rohan Dennis’ record.
The Giro d’Italia was also exciting, with team Astana winning various stages thanks to Landa and Aru.
And then there was the Tour de France 2015. The team Movistar, fitted with both Campagnolo EPS electronic groupsets and Campagnolo carbon wheels, obtained a second place with Nairo Quintana and a third place with Alejandro Valverde, thus confirming it as the best pro team for the 2015 season.
The year’s big cycle races couldn’t have closed better with the fantastic victory by Fabio Aru in the Vuelta a España. A real achievement for this young Italian cyclist, a very emotional experience and, as always, yet further proof of the quality and durability of Campagnolo products that once again have shown how performance and reliability are two fundamental elements in the development process of every Campagnolo brand article.
Not just races but also products.
2015 was an important year for Campagnolo also for other reasons, in particular with regard to its products.
During the year, the Campagnolo EPS electronic groupset had the honor of winning the prestigious Red Dot award: Best of the Best. This recognized the elegance of this article’s design and its highly innovative characteristics, the perfect mix of Italian style and cutting-edge technology.
But this is by no means all. The Super Record EPS itself was first included in the ADI book “ADI Design Index 2015” of the best Italian design excellences and then also nominated to compete in the 2016 edition of the ADI “Compasso d’oro”.
Finally, awards also for the Campagnolo Super Record mechanical groupset, voted benchmark product by Bike Radar in the Bike Radar Editor’s Choice feature.
And finally, still with products, the Campagnolo Chorus mechanical groupset was also nominated benchmark product by the specialist magazine 220 Triathlon.
Campagnolo is also proud of the awards it won in other sectors.
In first place, nomination of campagnolo.com at the Web Awards 2015 as a site of excellence. An important, innovative project that is continually evolving. New entries for 2015 include the addition of the new Campagnolo e-commerce store, where cycling aficionados can purchase various merchandising articles, all of them featuring the refined design and quality that Campagnolo guarantees for all the products in its line.
With the launch of the new mechanical groupsets, Campagnolo has also received recognition from the magazine Bike4Trade for the Evolution of a Revolution video.
To close, the CosmoBIke jury selected the new MyCampy application and new EPS V3 system as two of the most interesting new ideas for the short term.
In other words, a year filled with effort and satisfactory results, stimuli for continuing to innovate and achieve even more important results with the ultimate aim of sharing to the max a passion for cycling.
We would like to thank you for having been right there at our side and all that is left for us to do is wish you a good 2016.
