Nibali and Campagnolo: victorious in the Giro d’Italia 2016

The road to victory is full of pitfalls, obstacles and difficulties. It is a story written meter by meter, one pedal stroke after another, a challenge not only against fierce competition, but also against yourself.

Only a real champion can triumph in this arduous race.

Vincenzo Nibali has not only won the 99th Giro d’Italia, he has written an epoch-making page in the history of cycling.

This victory is both a personal and team result. Team Astana played its cards well, above all in the final, thanks also the fundamental support of all Nibali’s teammates, especially his friend Scarponi.

The 99th Giro d’Italia was a unique spectacle; fans could not have asked for anything better.

Valverde in team Movistar also obtained good results, achieving all his own goals, with a stage victory and a place on the winner’s podium.

Not to mention the achievements by Ciccone (Team CSF Bardiani), Greipel and Wellens on Team Lotto Belisol.

Good results also for Campagnolo, which adds another Giro d’Italia to its history of successes, after the victory in the Vuelta a España 2015 with Aru, in the Giro d’Italia 2014 with Quintana, in the Tour 2014 with Nibali and the Giro d’Italia 2013, again with Nibali.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Vincenzo Nibali, team Astana and all the other Campagnolo-sponsored cyclists.

Vincenzo Nibali and team Astana’s bikes are fitted with Campagnolo Super Record mechanical groupsets and with Campagnolo Super Record EPS electronic groupsets.
