One of the most significant developments of the Super Record 13 platform is its version dedicated to gravel riding.
It shares the same technical foundation as the SR 2x13 rear derailleur, redefining shifting standards even on rough terrain. Thanks to the optimized derailleur path, it offers smooth, fast, and instantaneous gear transitions even under stress, enhancing efficiency across the entire sprocket range.
The most distinctive feature compared to the road model is the new ""Nano Clutch"", a miniaturized clutch that maintains the right chain tension on rough terrain and bumpy descents, preventing the chain from falling off the front chainring and ensuring absolute stability.
The new architecture, which sees the rear derailleur being positioned under the sprocket set, provides minimal aesthetics, improves aerodynamics and ensures impeccable alignment between pulleys and gears, making gear shifts quieter, more precise and more reliable. Despite its size and weight, similar to the road version, the Super Record X provides class-leading impact resistance and cage rigidity.
Efficiency is further enhanced by two differentiated pulleys: the upper, 12-tooth eccentric pulley maintains optimal spacing even on large gears, while the lower, oversized 16-tooth pulley facilitates smooth chain entry. Both feature a profile designed to accommodate each individual link, ensuring perfect gliding.
Another key feature is the new carbon cage geometry extended to 92.5 mm, compatible with cassettes up to 48 teeth and ideal for tackling the steepest climbs. The steel crankset axle has also been optimized for gravel riding: it has retained the Ultra-Torque technology but with a 47.5 mm chain line, perfect for modern gravel-specific frames.
The rear derailleur has been designed with a universal mount, compatible with both UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) and traditional dropouts. The system is powered by a removable battery with a range of up to 750 km and ultra-fast charging: it takes just 60 minutes for a full recharge. The charge status can be easily monitored via the integrated LED, MyCampy app or bike computer, while the USB-C port ensures maximum compatibility with modern devices, including smartphones, which can be used as an emergency power bank.
The design also reflects Campagnolo excellence: the internal housing and the front part are made of carbon with a direct mold finish, the aluminum components are anodized after laser engraving, and the logo shows the attention to detail that sets the brand apart.
The result is smooth, fast, precise, and silent shifting, even in the most extreme conditions. Furthermore, thanks to its compatibility with the 1x road crankset with a 45.8 mm chain line, the X Rear Derailleur allows single-chainring road bikes to be configured with the widest range of gear ratios available on the market.
