The Super Record EPS 2015 electronic groupset has won the prestigious Red Dot Award: Best of the Best.
The Red Dot Design Award, this year celebrating its 60th anniversary, is one of the most important major international design awards. Its objective is to bestow recognition of excellence on industrial design products.
The 2015 edition has seen participation by 1,994 companies and designers from 56 countries, presenting a total of 4,928 products, all on the cutting-edge in terms of both design and technology. Of these only 81 were winners of the top award Red Dot: Best of the Best, including the Super Record EPS 2015 electronic groupset, which, thanks to the elegance of its design and highly innovative features, convinced a prominent jury of 38 international experts.
In the Super Record EPS groupset, mechanical parts and electronic technology merge to create a high-performance drivetrain.
The exclusive Multi-shifting™ system allows to choose how many sprockets to shift up or down in just one movement, while the derailleur is fitted with a system that automatically repositions the chain according to the sprocket selected. The gear also features a manual release system in the event of problems which, at the same time, stops the gear breaking in a fall.
Thanks to road trials with pro cyclists and Multi-Dome technology, the Campy Tech Lab™ has perfected the “click feeling” to prevent any accidental shifting. All the components are IP67 certified to guarantee their total waterproofness.
The Super Record EPS 2015 electronic groupset will receive its prestigious award during the Red Dot Gala, to be held on 29 June in the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany. More than 1,200 guests from all over the world will come together at the ceremony for this highly-coveted award.
The Super Record EPS 2015 electronic groupset will then be exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
