Ben O’Connor wins Tour de France stage 9

The Australian rider from AG2R Citroën Team has taken the biggest win of his professional career.

Ben O’Connor: "Participating in the Tour de France was a dream. Winning is a bonus. The race was completely crazy. There is a lot of joy, I have a hard time controlling my emotions. I am so grateful to the AG2R CITROËN team for trusting me this season. I wasn't prepared for that, I didn't know what to do in the breakaway. I saw that there was a 5 minute lead, we could save time for the overall standings, and on a long day like this anything can happen and in the end I win. I gave it my all until the end, it was a crazy step. "

Ben O’Connor won the stage after launching a solo break with 17 kilometres to go atop on his BMC equipped with Campagnolo Super Record EPS 12 Speed Disc Brake electronic groupset and with Campagnolo Bora full carbon wheels.
